About JK Kids

How we started

Having four children is one sure-fire way to figure out the demands & needs of today's kids and children's clothing! Even 15 years ago, with only one child in tow, we saw a gap in the market for quality kids fashion at an affordable price.

Starting out with shoes, our JK line soon expanded to include a range of trendy and hardwearing clothing & accessories for children. Before long, the demand was so great that we had to expand on our Wellington store, opening stores in all the major shopping centres in NZ and beyond... and now, 15 years on, we have 26 stores nationwide in New Zealand, and a successful online store in both New Zealand and in Australia. And we're continuing to grow, with greater investment in our online technology over the next 2 years.

Every season, we travel to Europe, America & Asia to keep up with international trends, and then incorporate these into practical, hardwearing styles that are just right for kids down under! Our clothes are trendy, but also rough & ready and able to be tossed into the washing machine, making life much easier for busy parents.

Today our underlying principles are just the same as when we started JK 15 years ago:
